Ambient Architecture, LLC,  is a service-oriented architectural design firm that creates imaginative solutions for commercial, industrial, residential and public projects in the southern and western United States. Our current work includes senior housing and assisted-living facilities; multifamily residential complexes; custom residential homes; and various commercial projects.

We’re based in the Central Oregon town of Bend. And, while some might consider our community small, the scope of our experience in is big. Of course we like attractive buildings—we’re architects! And as a team, we’re continually challenging each other to do better in our design work, ensuring our designs stay fresh, interesting and beautiful. But, design isn’t just about aesthetics. Whether the projects we’re working on are cutting edge or conservative, single buildings or entire campuses, we focus on the functionality of design to fulfill our clients’ programming needs. That way, you get the spaces you need wrapped in the attractive package you want.

Due to this this belief, we’ve built our reputations not just on the buildings and projects we’ve designed, but also how we work with clients, consultants and contractors. OK, we admit it. We’re all little nerdy. And nothing makes us geek out more than the building technology, materials, codes, envelope design, sustainability and best practices. We study all of it, apply it, and sometimes we’re even asked to speak and teach about it, which we view as a duty to our profession, as well as an honor. When you hire Ambient Architecture, you can feel confident that experts are working to make sure your project is designed and managed right and tight. We also use the newest and most innovative design software, which keeps us fast and efficient. We currently design using Building Information Modeling (BIM) and can export drawings into AutoCAD and Revit.

Resting on our laurels doesn’t feel right to our team. With that in mind, we constantly seek educational opportunities to learn new, better and more efficient ways to design and manage your projects. This desire to constantly challenge ourselves takes our principals and staff to regional and national conferences, where the best minds in building design and technology meet. We’re also big believers in the importance of community involvement, support and education. That’s why we volunteer for committees, advisory groups and nonprofits that serve our community.

You’ll have to excuse us if our eyes wander. We’re probably checking out some awesome building detail, structural system or material application.
